With over 15 years of experience, Dr. McMahan has provided psychological assessment and treatment across diverse clinical settings, including psychiatric inpatient units, bariatric, oncology, and chronic pain programs, as well as services for individuals recovering from motor vehicle or workplace injuries and those on short- and long-term disability benefits.
Dr. McMahan offers the following clinical services on a virtual and in-person basis:
Comprehensive Psychological Assessment — including structured diagnostic interviews, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and psychodiagnostic evaluations for a wide range of mental and physical health conditions including Mood, Anxiety, Trauma and Stressor-based, Personality, and ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder
Psychological Treatment & Psychotherapy — evidence-based interventions for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related conditions, personality disorders, chronic pain, and comorbid health conditions

Dr. McMahan offers a comprehensive range of professional services spanning clinical supervision and training, consultation, and leadership and service development. She has provided over 10,000 hours of supervision and consultation to clinicians training as psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and behavioural therapists — supporting the development of the next generation of mental health professionals across hospital, university, and private practice settings.

About Dr. McMahan
Dr. Mandy McMahan, PhD, C.Psych. is a Registered Clinical, Health & Counselling Psychologist offering psychological assessment, treatment, training, supervision, consultation, and leadership development. She provides in-person and virtual services in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, as well as virtual services across Ontario, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.
Dr. McMahan completed an MA (Joint Honours) in International Relations and Psychology at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and MA and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University, Ontario. She is a Professional Associate, Clinic Director, and Clinical Supervisor with the Department of Psychology at Lakehead University and a Clinical Lecturer with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
Dr. McMahan's work focuses on developing people and services to realize their fullest potential through values-based direction, fostering growth, integrity, and meaningful impact across individual, professional, and organizational levels.
